Diagnostic Imaging – Dr. LeeAnn DuMars, ABVP
This month’s topic is radiology and imaging diagnostics. We use radiographs (x-rays) every day in the pet hospital and most are familiar with them for broken bones, heart disease and interesting intestinal foreign bodies; however, we now have many additional imaging modalities that can help us where radiographs fall short. One of my veterinary colleagues, Dr John Daugherty, wrote an article for Veterinary Partner that discusses the different imaging tests available and some of their indications. I think he did such an excellent job at describing the tests and their use, that I will link to his original article below – of course, how can we write a blog on imaging techniques without including some cool images, too?!
